Canopy API alternative

A Canopy API alternative with a warehouse behind it.

Canopy is one of the better-liked Amazon APIs — clean docs, REST and GraphQL, honest pricing. But it still scrapes live per request, the free tier is 100 calls a month, and volume pricing climbs to $400/mo territory fast. We answer from a continuously refreshed 3.5M+ product warehouse in ~150ms, include multi-seller offers and up to ~2 years of price/BSR history, cover Walmart in the same schema, and stay cheap at volume. Try the live demo.

Credit where due: Canopy's docs and developer experience are genuinely good, and a live scrape fetches the page at request time. If purchase-moment accuracy on arbitrary long-tail ASINs is your whole use case, that architecture has a place — our on-demand fresh fetch covers it case by case.

Where we differ, in practice.

  • Speed you can put in an interactive UI A search that answers in ~150ms works in an autocomplete, an agent tool call, or a page render. A live scrape that answers in seconds doesn't. If your product search sits in front of a user or an LLM, warehouse speed is the difference in kind, not degree.
  • History nobody scrapes live Price, BSR, and seller-count history up to ~2 years, attached to any product for a flat +50%. A per-request scraper structurally cannot offer this — it wasn't there when the request came in. We were.
  • Volume economics Our data comes from a warehouse we already maintain, so marginal cost per read is near zero and pricing stays flat as you scale. Per-request scrape providers carry per-request proxy costs, and their price ladders show it.
  • Two marketplaces beyond Amazon US amazon.co.uk and walmart.com in the same API and schema today, with 10 more Amazon marketplaces shortly available — one integration instead of three.
